6 in 10 parents in the Caribbean Netherlands use formal childcare

6 in 10 parents in the Caribbean Netherlands use formal childcare

Over 6 in 10 working parents in the Caribbean Netherlands with children under age 12 used formal childcare at least once every week in 2022. The children attended a nursery, preschool or out-of-school care. On average, 91 percent of the parents aged 15 to 74 years with children under 12 were in employment.

Three girls

Boys happier than girls on Bonaire and Saba

Both on Bonaire and on Saba, boys between the ages of 11 and 18 are on average more likely to report being happy than girls. The main leisure activity of young people on Bonaire is gaming, while Saba’s youth also likes to spend time outdoors with friends.
