More girls than boys exceeding expected school level
In 2017/’18, more girls than boys in the third year of secondary education were studying at a higher level than recommended by their primary school.

Women and young people with a non-western background are the main contributors to the increase. The proportion of students in general secondary vocational education (mbo) has remained stable in recent years.
