Suspects of violent crimes (aged 12 to 24 years)
All registered suspects of violent crimes.
Violent crimes are defined in Articles 239, 242 to 250, 285, 287 to 291, 293, 294, 296, 300 to 304b, 306 to 309, 312 and 317 of the Dutch Criminal Code. These include sexual offences, including rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse. They further include homicide, such as murder and manslaughter, assisting in suicide, euthanasia and abortion. Death and culpable bodily harm, threat, abuse, theft with violence and blackmail are also included in this category.
This concerns persons who have been registered in the National Law Enforcement Database (BVH) of the Dutch police. Persons who have not been registered in the Key Register of Persons (BRP) will be included in the absolute number of suspects, but not in the relative numbers. A person who has been registered more than once during a reporting year, will only be counted once in the total number of suspects. In addition, for each offence they will be counted once in the main crime group.
