In 2019, the survey question on exposure to secondhand smoke (also known as passive smoking) was changed to: ‘How often are you/is your child exposed to tobacco smoke of others indoors?’

1. Never or almost never
2. Less than once a week
3. At least once a week, but not every day
4. Every day for less than one hour a day     
5. Every day for at least one hour a day          

For this publication, the answer options 2 and 3 were combined as ‘not daily’ and the options 4 and 5 as ‘daily’.
